WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW 当代中国:我即我时代
Exhibition Overview
In today's world art market, numerous countries have seen the emergence of many renowned artists. However, young Chinese artists, as a minority group, often struggle to gain widespread recognition and exposure. They are in desperate need of opportunities to showcase their work, voice their perspectives, and receive the acknowledgment and recognition necessary to sustain their artistic careers. Simultaneously, this situation presents a significant commercial potential, as investments in emerging artists from China are relatively manageable, yet the potential returns can be substantial.
The purpose of "WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW" is to present to the audience the connections between young Chinese artists and the contemporary era, China, and the global context. Their works not only reflect their thoughts and feelings about the present time, which may include pain, struggle, and their viewpoints on society, but these works, compared to those of mature artists, are more raw, direct, and intuitively convey their personal experiences.
This exhibition will prominently showcase the works of young artists to unearth their unique creativity and artistic value, providing them with a platform for their voices to be heard and their artworks to be seen. Through this exhibition, the audience will have the opportunity to discover numerous promising artists and establish connections with them, exploring the potential for collaboration.
